This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 26th September – Friday 30th September 2022
• Jonathan James Weaver, 38, of Sandown Road in Bembridge, admitted breaching the requirements of a community order. He was ordered to pay £60 costs and the order was varied and extended to July 2024 with 50 hours of unpaid work attached – an additional 10 hours.
• Sam Cross, 27, of Warships Way in Reading, pleaded guilty to 3 counts of breaching a non-molestation order, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance. He was sentenced to a total of 32 weeks in prison and made subject to a restraining order until September 2023. Cross was also disqualified from driving for 6 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £154 surcharge.
• Jamie Thomas, 38, of Southgrove Road in Ventnor, was fined £769 and ordered to pay £60 costs for failing to comply with the requirements of a community order. The order was revoked and he was dealt with for the original offence, namely failing to stop following a road traffic incident.
•Michael Jenkins, 44, of Avenue Road, Sandown, pleaded guilty to producing a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £50 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Taylor Blair, 20, of Arnhem Road, Freshwater, pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Mack Alexander, 25, of Ashey Road, Ryde, pleaded guilty to 1 count of using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress and 1 count of obstructing/resisting a constable. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £80 surcharge.
• Josef Wilkins, 22, of Pellhurst Road, Ryde, pleaded guilty to burglary other than dwelling – theft. He was ordered to pay £500 compensation but the bench sentenced outside its guidelines because the defendant is vulnerable with mental health difficulties, causing poor impulse control. He was not being properly supervised at the time.
• Matthew Lewendon, 51, of Fort Street, Sandown, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was ordered to pay £74 compensation.
• Catherine Fitzgibbon, 33, of Thornton Manor Drive, Ryde, pleaded guilty to harassment without violence. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £300 costs and a £22 surcharge.
• Carl Brodie, 43, of St Edmunds Walk, Wootton pleaded guilty to drug driving (Benzoylecgonine), drug driving (cocaine), drug driving (cannabis), using a vehicle/trailer with tyre ply/cord exposed, possession of a Class B drug (cannabis) and possession of a Class A drug (cocaine). He was banned from driving for 24 months and handed a 12-month community order with 60 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation days attached. He was ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Daniel Kilshaw, 41, of HMP Isle of Wight pleaded guilty to possession a controlled drug of Class A – Heroin and theft from a shop. He was handed a 4-week concurrent prison sentence.





























































































Pathetic. Just one custodial out of all that lot and that thing wasn’t even a local.
Poor Mr Kilshaw has to do a whole extra 2 weeks at full board, all paid for, nice and warm for theft and class A, crime does pay apparently, out soon too continue the rampage
