Monday 1st November – Friday 5th November 2021
• Lorraine Mildred Daniels, 61, of The Broadway in Totland pleaded guilty to failing to provide. She was given an 8-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. She was also made subject to a 12-month community order with 15 rehabilitation days. She was disqualified from driving for 32 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £128 surcharge.
• Bogdan Mihai Mistreanu, 26, of West Hill Road in Ryde, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and 2 counts of assault by beating. He was made subject to a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation days and 200 hours of unpaid work attached. He is also now subject to a 12-month restraining order and must pay £300 costs with a £95 surcharge.
• Ashley David Smart, 37, of High Street in Shanklin, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A drug (cocaine) and possession of a Class B drug (cannabis). He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £85 surcharge.
• Lifeng Cheng, 25, of Sandown Road in Lake, pleaded guilty to driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle without a valid test certificate. He was given 3 penalty points, fined £69 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge.
• Leslie Graham, 78, of Winston Avenue in Binstead, was found guilty of possessing a knife in a public place. He was given a 3-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to pay £200 costs with a £128 surcharge. He must also complete 10 rehabilitation days.
• Joseph Gibbons, 30, of Halberry Lane in Newport, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A drug (cocaine), drug driving (cannabis) and another charge of drug driving (cocaine). He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £60 surcharge.
• Marcus Burgin, 22, of Camp Road in Freshwater, admitted being in charge of a motor vehicle whilst drunk. He was disqualified from driving for 3 months, fined £192 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Emily Bailey, 30, of The Green in Cowes, pleaded guilty to driving otherwise in accordance with a licence. She was fined £40, given 3 penalty points and ordered to pay £45 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Daniel Woods, 28, of Green Street in Ryde, was given a 6-month conditional discharge for the offence of criminal damage. He was ordered to pay £100 in compensation.
• Christopher Allen, 49, of Atherley Road in Shanklin, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Valerie Burnett, 44, of Farriers Way in Shorwell, was found guilty of driving whilst disqualified, drink driving (151) and using a motor vehicle without insurance. She pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to bail. Burnett was given a 6-month prison sentence, disqualified from driving for 63 months and was ordered to pay a £128 surcharge. Magistrates noted that it was Burnett’s 5th drink drive offence and also noted the very high reading of 151.
• Jacob Grimaldi, 28, of Upton Road in Ryde, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was fined £238 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Charles McKie, 80, of Latimer Road in St Helens, admitted drink driving. He was disqualified from driving for 17 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Harry Mortram, 19, of George Street in Ryde, pleaded guilty to burglary other than dwelling – theft. He was given a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and 25 rehabilitation days attached. He was ordered to pay £630 compensation.
