Monday 18th April – Friday 22nd April 2022
• Luke Thorpe, 31, of Arnold Road in Cowes, was sentenced to 6 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, after pleading guilty to possession of an offensive weapon in a public place – namely a large kitchen knife. He was also ordered to complete 12 rehabilitation days and pay costs of £85 with a £128 surcharge.
• Jessica Parkin, 24, care of St James’ Street in Newport, pleaded not guilty to – but it was proved in her absence – driving whilst unfit through drugs, failing to provide and failing to wear a seat belt. She was disqualified from driving f0r 24 months, fined £403 and ordered to pay £1,000 costs with a £40 surcharge.
• Jamie Stephens, 39, of Salisbury Way in Sandown, pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving f0r 12 months, fined £180 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Mark Wilkinson, 59, of The Mall in Brading, pleaded guilty to drink driving (76). He was banned from driving f0r 20 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Keenan Bradbury, 26, of HMP Winchester, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison and ordered to pay £250 compensation.
• Billy Chilcott, 27, of Green Street in Ryde, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders Register – namely using 2 names on social media that were not registered with the police within 3 days. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £40 costs.
• Thomas Phillips, 23, of Furrlongs in Newport, pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving f0r 12 months, fined £352 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Isabella Kochanski, 28, of Albert Way in East Cowes, pleaded guilty to drink driving (173). She was handed a 20 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and banned from driving f0r 36 months. Kochanski was ordered to complete 25 rehabilitation days and pay £85 costs with a £128 surcharge.
• Carl Stevens, 21, of Fair Oak Road in Southsea, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was handed a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to complete 25 rehabilitation days. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs with a £128 surcharge.
I bet those blighters won’t ever dare offend again after being dealt with so harshly.

I do not understand why the two drug driving offender get such different fines.. ? One £180 the other £ 352 unless maybe due to the amount found, but that is not stated.. I think they should also increase the driving ban to say 5 years for drug driving… or more !!
