Hundreds of homes and businesses in Freshwater are without power tonight (Tuesday) as a result of a network fault.
154 postcodes in the PO40 area lost supply at 23:19.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks are aware of the problem and are working as quickly as possible to re-route the network and get customers back on the grid.
Engineers aim to have the power restored by 05:30.
In Godshill, 5 postcodes in PO38 3 have also lost power tonight. The lights went off at 22:45 with an estimated repair time of 02:00.
The network issues are not wholly unexpected with winds gusting 85mph at The Needles at 23:25.
UPDATE @ 02:37 – Homes in the West Wight area are still without power this morning.
UPDATE @ 09:31 – Power has now been restored to all properties in the West Wight.
