A car has ploughed into 2 brand new vehicles – 1 parked on a garage forecourt – at Hale Common near Arreton this afternoon (Thursday).
Police are in attendance on the main Newport and Sandown Road, where a Ford KA has caused significant damage to 2 brand new vehicles at Hale Common Suzuki.
Island Echo understands the KA collided with a 22-reg Suzuki Swift that was pulling into the garage. In turn, a third vehicle – parked on the forecourt – suffered side impact damage.
The road has been closed to motorists travelling towards Sandown but remains open for those heading westbound.
No one has been injured in the incident, including the ‘Pope’ in the back.
The crash occurred at just before 17:15.
Recovery of 2 of the vehicles is underway and the road is expected to fully re-open shortly.
This afternoon’s crash is the latest – the 6th – in a run of road traffic collisions over the past 24 hours alone, including incidents at Ashey, Ryde, Yaverland, Luccombe and Blackwater.
If you zoom in on the KAs back window , seems the Pope was a passenger !! , may have been an Act of God ??
Hilarious – You would have thought he could have avoided the crash.
Is that the Pope sitting in the back of the KA
No it’s his brother Gary
Leslies Suzuki actually
anther crap island driver
And you know, why because you were there no doubt! you can’t even spell.
Bloody hell, that’s a straight road! What the hell is wrong with people’s driving on this island?
Either they distracted by something like their phone or the driver just can’t drive! Thank goodness nobody was viewing that vehicle in the garage, they could have been killed
It’s nice to know there are so many infallible drivers about, perhaps when they have the time they could give everyone a master class! We all make mistakes at some point, some with worse consequences than others!
how can this keep happening ????????
I was just coming in for a test drive
Probably get more scrap value for the ford Ka.Then the two Suzuki’s put together..
BOF.
Suzuki’s are very good quality and reliable vehicles.
Apparently they had missed the turning for this fighting cocks, the pope was going in to bless the wine,
There are so many car crashes being reported lately on the Island I do wonder if those involved need to be banned and sit another driving lesson before being able to drive again!
More bad driving on the IW
Too fast, too close and not paying attention.
obviously was attentive to what was going on in front !!!
