IW GRAND NATIONAL AND SCURRY 2020 POSTPONED

Published:

The Isle of Wight Grand National and Ashey Scurry has been postponed due to the recent wet weather.

Competitors and spectators alike will be disappointed at the news, especially as the event is often affected by bad weather – be it rain or snow.

Instead of cancelling the event, organisers have confirmed that it has been postponed from the original date of Sunday 29th March. It will now be run when the weather is better in September on a date yet to be announced.

I believe that all or much of the money raised, apart from a small token gesture sum for charity, goes to fund the Hunt at Gatcombe.

As the terrier men still operate then clearly they aren’t ‘just’ drag hunting.

So, no tears from me if this is so.

Ditto from me. Also shame on all the businesses sponsoring this “event”, I will give all of them none of my hard-earned money from now on.
