Isle of Wight residents are being reminded to stay clear of exposed beaches, cliffs, piers and promenades today (Friday) as strong winds batter the coast.
Volunteer crew members at both Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat and Freshwater Independent Lifeboat have put out warnings through Twitter and are urging people to remain aware of the dangers around the Island and especially around the coastline.
A yellow weather warning for strong winds from the IW Met Service is in force until 16:00 this afternoon.
Gusty conditions in Sandown have already led to the fire service being called out, as reported by Island Echo earlier on.
