Police on the Isle of Wight are on the lookout for a Ford Focus that was stolen from outside a property near Newport overnight.
The dark blue car, registration plate DL56 PAM, was taken from Noke Common – situated off the main Newport to Cowes road – at some point on Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Although the vehicle is worth very little, it had a number of personal effects inside which the owner is keen to recover.
The keys were left inside the vehicle.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary has said:
“We are investigating after a Ford Focus was reported stolen from a driveway on Noke Common, Newport.
“This took place some time overnight on 28 August”.
Anyone with information about this incident, or has seen a blue Ford Focus with a registration ending PAM, is asked to contact Police on 101, quoting 44190306870.
UPDATE @ 20:05 – The vehicle has been successfully located. It was discovered in the Gurnard area.
Thank you to everyone who shared this appeal

Personnal Number plate must be worth more than the car . Not hard to miss on the Island
* Personal
Some good advice…… don’t leave keys in the car!
Car worth very little, I would say zero because that’s what insurance company will pay for leaving keys in car
Surely if the keys were left in the car the status should be ‘gifted’, not ‘stolen’???
What a waste of police time this blatant stupidity has caused.
And stuff anyone who the uninsured driver may crash in to then. Thanks ‘owner’!!!
Don’t you understand ,Thick as ..That if something doesn’t belong to you it is not yours it theft.
Would anybody actually bother to search for a Ford Focus.
Try re-reading the article – mentions “personal effects”?
Why all the negativity? This person has just had there car stolen from there house. There personal space there home you know the place where your meant to feel safe.
Yes they may have left there keys in it but sorry I am pretty sure everyone at least once has left there keys in there car or there front door.
Pretty sure if that had happened to you this would be upsetting. Have some decency because it shows theres not enough of it in this world. Ide be more worried about people stealing belongings from our homes instead of being nasty human beings and attacking the victim.
Well said
Ok the car was taken now back the person was very lucky lesson learnt i hope.
“There” for “their” eight times. “Ide” for “I’d”. “Theres” for “there’s”. Wish Donna would learn how to spell before presuming to lecture the rest of us.
If you insist on being pedantic, you missed “your” for “you’re”…. and if you feel the need to continue with the negativity, why don’t you criticise her grammar and punctuation as well.
There were times when the spelling of their, there and they’re, and the difference in their meanings, was taught in school, but they’re apparently gone now. If you’re not sure of your understanding of spelling and grammar, you can always look it up on the internet.
To me, her comments seemed more sympathetic than presumptuous, and it was hardly a lecture.
False sense of security.. DON’T LEAVE YOU KEYS IN YOUR CAR! Doesn’t matter where you are, opportunist thieves are everywhere.
Where’s my phone, where’s my keys, where’s my car
There. Their .
Good grief .
Leave your keys in the car when parked up and invalidate your insurance.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Private Pyle, if there is one thing in this world that I hate, it is an unlocked footlocker! You know that, don’t you?
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, yes, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: If it wasn’t for dickheads like you, there wouldn’t be any thievery in this world, would there?
Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, no, sir!
