Hovertravel have been forced to suspend their cross-Solent service tonight (Friday) due to adverse weather conditions.
A yellow weather warning is in force across the Isle of Wight until 01:00 tomorrow morning, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Local forecasters IW Met Service predicted disruption to transport services as the wind is expected to gust at a peak of 55mph.
An update on the Ryde to Southsea service is expected at 20:30, although the weather is expected to deteriorate as the night goes on.
UPDATE SATURDAY – Following a suspension of service last night until the end of the timetabled day, services are now back up and running.
