Hovertravel have been forced to suspend their cross-Solent service tonight (Monday) as a result of adverse weather conditions.
The operator says that services are cancelled until further notice with an update expected at 20:00.
It comes just hours before a yellow weather warning for heavy, thundery rain becomes active.
As previously reported by Island Echo, forecasters at the IW Met Service are warning of heavy rain between 02:00 tomorrow morning and 13:00 tomorrow afternoon.
UPDATE @ 20:35 – Hovertravel’s service is to remain suspended for the remainder of tonight.
An update is expected at 05:45 tomorrow.
UPDATE TUESDAY @ 06:20 – Hovertravel have confirmed that services are running as normal this morning.
UPDATE TUESDAY @ 07:55 – Services between Ryde and Southsea have been suspended once again as a result of the weather conditions.
An update is expected at 09:00.
UPDATE TUESDAY @ 10:40 – Services have now resumed to a normal timetable.
