Police have erected a cordon around a house and garden in Newport this evening (Wednesday).
Officers are currently in attendance at an address on Argyle Road as part of an ongoing investigation by Hampshire Constabulary.
A scene guard is in place with a Police presence expected on the Albany estate throughout this evening and overnight into Thursday.
It’s currently unclear what has prompted the property to be treated as a crime scene – details are not expected until tomorrow morning.
The front of the property has been cordoned off, as has a side entrance leading to an enclosed rear garden.
UPDATE THURSDAY – Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that a woman was taken seriously unwell at the address yesterday, leading to Police being called to the scene.
