The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) was scrambled to Seaview this morning (Thursday) following an urgent medical emergency.
The helicopter was scrambled from the mainland at around 11:30. Having made its way south, the helicopter was brought down within Salterns Village off Duver Road.
On the ground, doctors joined local crews from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service (IOWAS) at an address on Bluett Avenue, Island Echo understands.
After around 30-minutes on scene, flying medics returned to the helicopter and took off, heading back to their Southampton Airport base.
It is understood that the patient was conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by land.
