Motorists should be on the look out for a horse that is running wild through Ryde this evening (Wednesday).
Island Echo understands the animal has fled from Ryde Beach, up Appley Lane to Marlborough Road. It has galloped the length of the busy carriageway to Westridge, through Westridge crossroads and out towards Tesco and Brading.
The animal could pose a serious risk to traffic and pedestrians in the area.
UPDATE @ 18:20 – The horse has been successfully located and the owner has been contacted.
The rider is not thought to have been injured in the incident at Ryde beach.
