The urgent search for an elderly lady with dementia in Ventnor has had a positive outcome this evening (Wednesday).
More than 6 Police units and HM Coastguard responded to Ventnor Esplanade near The Spyglass Pub at around 20:00 following reports that a vulnerable woman had gone missing.
As emergency teams descended on the town the news came through that she had been found safe and well on Ventnor Beach.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team have both been stood down and Police officers are now leaving the scene.
The lady is in the care of Police.
