osbornehousevisitindiacommissioner2English Heritage welcomed His Excellency Ranjan Mathai, High Commissioner of India to a formal visit of Osborne House yesterday (Thursday).

Met by HM Lord Lieutenant, Major General Martin White and Rob Flower, General Manager at Osborne, His Excellency – accompanied by his wife Mrs Gita Mathai and Mrs Fiona White – was given a tour of the House and terrace gardens by Linda Lynch, Osborne’s House Supervisor and Ann Fiddler, Operations Manager.

The Durbar wing with its portraits and fine Indian Jubilee gifts were of particular interest.
