UPDATE @ 12:08 – It has been confirmed that a woman has suffered chemical burns as a result of mixing household chemicals together.
The woman is said to have been mixing toilet cleaner and bleach together in a sink.
Firefighters have now ventilated the property and resources are beginning to stand down from the incident.

How stupid can you get – it is made very clear on these containers not to mix them – now we have to pay for this thick stupid persons ignorance!
That’s a bit harsh
I’m afraid it’s ‘you’ who comes badly out of this, with your aggressive comment.
What a shame she didnt read the instructions on the side of the containers,I hope she will recover …people take note..dont ever mix cleaning fluids together
I am the woman and I honestly thought I was saving on plastic bottles to save the world. I never thought this would happen. Thank you for your support , it is good to know people have all the answers after it has happened. I am out of hospital my chest is very painful and no I won’t do it again. Maybe you will make a mistake one day, this one could have killed me.
I hope you are ok. Please ignore thoughtless comments. I’m glad you’re ok and thank you for being aware of saving plastic. Take care, hope you feel better soon❤️❤️❤️xxx
Likely the fear of catching CV will cause similar incidents as people try to wipe out the germs before they cause harm.
Use only one chemical at a time.
She may be elderly and confused.
And the post tells you how to get a combination to burn people reckless putting the ingredients up for other people to copy
Labelling should include a warning in bold lettering that mixing cleaning chemicals can be hazardous and should be avoided at all times. It appears that in this incident an acid cleaner was mixed with bleach generating a toxic gas. This is something that I, as a safety manager, impressed upon cleaners when they commenced employment with my company. However, I do feel that manufacturers should make this clear on their labels. I hope the victim recovers without lasting harm and will learn from this unfortunate event.
