Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and Thames Valley Police are launching the rollout of new Taser devices.
Over the course of the next 12 months, the Taser 7 device will replace all our current X2 models.
The device is an evolution of its predecessor, enhancing the safety of officers and the public, with 2 cartridge types for use depending on the proximity of a person.
Assistant Chief Constable Rob France, responsible for the 2 forces’ Joint Operations Unit, said:
“Since the Home Office approved the T7, we have been looking into introducing this to replace the current X2 devices our people use.
“Ensuring the safety of all in our communities, in particular the most vulnerable, is a key priority, and Taser has an important part to play in this.
“All Taser trained officers go through a comprehensive training programme, and continual refresher training, to ensure it is being used lawfully and appropriately.
“Of course, we will always do all we can to resolve a situation without needing to use force; however, there are occasions when we must do so for the safety of the public, to ensure the safety of ourselves, or for the safety of the person involved in the incident.”

Meanwhile the public don’t even get a spoon.
The public in America can get weapons though and that obviously has worked out fine…NOT! To arm the general public is an incredibly stupid thing to do.
What has a spoon got to do with anything?
You can do a lot of damage with a spoon. I carry one at al times. That and a shovel.

Can I have one of the old X2 models to protect myself against all the low life scum being allowed to walk about doing as it likes?

Exactly, as no one else will protect you and your family, What we need is some sort of government uniformed force that’s based in all area’s that can patrol the streets protect the law abiding tax payer ??
Exactly. Law abiding taxpayers must be the only minority group now that doesn’t get special treatment.
Excellent news. The abuse, verbally and physically that the Police are bombarded with on a daily basis even here on the Isle of Wight is disgusting and I believe that if you’ve been tasered then you obviously bl****well deserved it. Bet the new ones still have the crappy 1w red laser diodes on them!! Note to designer, use green laser diode’s on them, even at the same power 5w output, green is more of a visible wavelength to the human eye and could prevent missing the target when it is required to be used…. Just saying,,, I’ve had one pointed at me (in error) so believe me, I’m not making it up!!! 🙂
