The owners of The Little Gloster in Gurnard, Ben and Holly Cooke, have announced that the business will be closing at the end of September and will not re-open for non-residents in the meantime.
During the lockdown, the Little Gloster team has been supporting the local community and suppliers by providing an ‘at home’ service. However, without the significant support of The Little Gloster Rooms reservations over the past 13 weeks, the Cooke’s say they find themselves at a crossroads.
A hard decision has been taken that after 10 years in business The Little Gloster Restaurant & Rooms will close at the end of September. The ‘at home’ service has now concluded.
Between now and October, The Little Gloster will be open for room guests only and the restaurant will be closed to all non-residents.
Talking to social media, Ben and Holly have said:
“The Little Gloster will be back! We’re brimming with ideas and an opportunity that makes our hearts flutter and excites us could be just around the corner, and when the right one comes along we will know, and we will pour everything we have into it, just as we have done in beautiful Gurnard.
“We look forward to welcoming you over the summer and into early autumn. Even if you live around the corner, come and stay and help us make more memories, and fill these last Little Gloster weeks with happiness”.
The Little Gloster is currently taking bookings for stays from 4th July through to end of September.
Those with vouchers are being encouraged to use them to book a room or to use them to buy wines and bottles of spirits.

What a huge shame – this place was amazing and really contributed to wonderful island life!
I can remember when this place was a shop.
Thank you. That helps so much!!
This is such sad news. I wish Ben and Holly all the very best for the next chapter in their lives. Gurnard wont be the same without the Little Gloster at the end of our road. Lots of happy memories.
A devastating end to what has become the Island’s premier eatery. With Ben & Holly supporting local farmers and growers culminating in world class food borne out by the many awards they have received over this past decade. A great loss to all foodies. Where can I eat now?
