Despite it being the beginning of March, gritters will be seen across the Island tomorrow morning (Wednesday). Island Roads has confirmed that their fleet of gritters will be out and out gritting the usual routes from 04:00 as temperatures drop overnight. Motorists are advised to take additional care when they are on the network.
To find a list of all the Island's gritting routes, you can visit our dedicated Isle of Wight Gritting Routes & Winter Maintenance page.

Too wet for gritting….
Too many incompetent drivers, Ive no problem on a motorcycle, and I bet Island roads still haven’t fixed the running water issue on the main road through Sandford.
Yes that’s bad, and Victoria Avenue is getting worse…
Have you driven through Wroxall lately? A ditch has formed in the tarmac on the left as you head towards Ventnor. It is getting worse now Leeson Road is closed and it is wrecking cars.
We all know that island roads are terrible but island roads can’t do anything about water running off the fields onto the road
A roadside gutter? Although I suppose its an issue for the landowner.
Come on what a waste of money when we have so many roads closed and full off hole’s ect ect .
To many snowflakes
What a mess of a sentence, that was!
How’s my pal Stu been
ToO I’m going to point out that there are two OOs in too and that is because whenever we’re discussing an amount of something, too much, too long, or including something extra, those too, that is too much we use tOO but if we are going tO somewhere, or pointing tO something, even talking tO someone it is the singular.
This is the most basic form of grammar and should have been learnt by middle school unless you’re dyslexic but even then it’s like 1+1=2 and I have discalculia.
Amazing how many confuse the word lose for loose ?
Snow is on the cards on the mainland.
Maybe for one moment Jo Blogs think about where the water is coming from? I think your find a selfish land owner who doesn’t play to the rules? If the selfish landowner doesn’t want to do anything about it why is it others problem who have no power to do anything about it? Maybe have a pop at the local authority who does? But no lack of knowledge is dangerous and brings the wrong people in to disrupt! Keyboard warriors are on the same level as vegans and you sir are a keyboard warrior with little facts!
I think you’LL. I think you will. So we split you and will and put an apostrophe in the middle to show this is what we’ve done.
It does sound like your but isn’t.
Much like mung beans think could HAVE sounds like like could of but, of course, that would be beyond idiotic. How could that ever make sense?
Sounds like you’re a bit of a numpty to me! You sound like you’re trying to get attention from being a muppet!!
All I said, the roads are too wet for the gritting to have an affect….How does that make me a keyboard warrior???.
Your always full of bs and you always with be
What King Kev said !!
Absolutely idiotic. Just an excuse to claim cashback. If people can’t drive safely they should take responsibility, not try to sue for their failings.
Global warming is getting out of hand now, all this heat
Island roads don’t forget to grit the pavements, you Dickheads.
