Island Roads will be deploying its fleet of gritters across the Island’s road network at 14:30 this afternoon (Tuesday) – and again at 04:00 tomorrow morning.
Grit will be spread on the usual roads in a bid to minimise the risk of ice, although motorists are being reminded that just because a road is treated it does not mean it is free from ice.
Last night a number of motorists were caught out by the conditions, including the driver of a Land Rover Discovery that rolled on the outskirts of Havenstreet.
Further crashes have occurred on Noke Common Road near Newport and Pixley Hill near Freshwater – with both incidents seeing cars come to rest on their roofs.
Motorists are being reminded to drive carefully and according to the conditions.

but this was the best one I saw this morning
a certain vehicle being driven with no lights on when most sensible drivers had their lights on
the difference was this was a marked police vehicle
