Green Isle of Wight CIC has issued an open call for volunteers to join its team as Volunteer Energy Advisers. This initiative aims to empower individuals who are passionate about sustainability to play a vital role in promoting energy efficiency and green practices within the community. Green Isle of Wight is at the forefront of promoting energy awareness and sustainable living on the Isle of Wight. Committed to creating a greener and cleaner future, the organisation has successfully implemented various projects focusing on renewable energy, waste reduction, and helping people make their homes warmer and cheaper to heat. The Volunteer Energy Adviser Program is a unique opportunity for individuals to actively contribute to the community’s transition to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future. As a Volunteer Energy Adviser, participants will receive specialised training and resources to educate and assist community members in adopting eco-friendly energy practices, reducing their carbon footprint, and lowering energy bills. This can be fitted around existing work/home/college commitments. Key Responsibilities:
- Attend Outreach sessions and talk to members of the community about improvements they can make to their homes to improve energy efficiency.
- Provide information on government grants available.
- Educate community members on sustainable energy practices.
