Satisfaction with GP services on the Isle of Wight has increased by 3.7% over the last 2 years, according to new analysis published by Island Labour, which says the figures show the Government’s NHS reforms are beginning to improve patient experience.
The party says the increase comes as Labour continues its efforts to improve access to primary care through increased investment and NHS modernisation.
According to the analysis, more than half of patients across England now describe contacting their GP practice as easy, rising from 47.5% when Labour took office to 56.3% today.
It also claims almost 8 in 10 patients have used an online GP service in the past year, while 31% are now using the NHS App to contact their GP, compared with 22% in 2025 and 17% in the previous government’s tenure.
Island Labour says the improvements follow record investment in the NHS, alongside reforms including the recruitment of 2,000 more GPs, expanded urgent dental care and a greater role for pharmacists in treating patients closer to home.

“Labour is getting our NHS on the Isle of Wight back on its feet – there is still an awfully long way to go, but the marked increase in satisfaction in General Practice across the Island is a clear sign that we are on the right track.
“This improvement hasn’t come about by accident – it is a direct result of the reform and investment that Labour has delivered. The Tories left our NHS on its knees and Nigel Farage talks about abolishing the NHS as we know it all together – but Labour was elected to save our health service and that is exactly what we are doing.”

Contacting the G.P. is easy, getting an appointment without waiting a week or more is the hard part, that’s why A&E and urgent care are busy as you’re seen within a few hours.
Personally I haven’t seen a change.
Madness anyone tried to get through on the phone or see a G.P knows that the its near impossible and G.Ps took covid as a sign to stop working and never go back but keep taking taxpayers money.
Majority of GPs took their retirement during the pandemic,
hence hardly any left working.
