A power cut has hit Godshill leaving nearly all of the village without power this morning (Tuesday).
The outage was first logged at around 08:45 this morning.
22 postcodes are affected with an estimated 413 customers without power.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are aware of the fault and an engineer is on the way.
SSEN have said that they aim to have power back on by 13:00.

UPDATE @ 13:15 – Island Echo understands that power has been restored to the majority of properties on Newport Road as well as those on May Close, Yarborough Close and Dubbers.
Around 221 customers are still affected by the issues with SSEN now saying that they hope to restore power by 16:00
Never lived in an area where power cuts are so frequent (an island-wide problem). Is it down to a lack of proper maintenance by SSEN?
No wonder me egg never boiled. Thought it was because can’t afford to have heating on and it had froze solid.
You are fortunate. We we so poor our Mother left the eggs outside till they were frozen in the Winter to save the cost of hard boiling them.
Never thought such days would return and coincidently with so many poor arriving here daily.

Issue is for us, that it has impoverished us so much now, WE can’t feed, house or warm ourselves.
Let’s hope the Gov do get tough on such parasites.
They would work if allowed,it’s lazy people on drugs and Universal Credit who will never have any intention to work – they are the parasites take take. Our government stops migrants from working !. Migrants and prisoners should work for their keep.

SSEN cannot be botherd to put all cables underground and in ducting with an extra draw cord for any futre LV or HV cables , this is too much trouble for them , and do not want any further expence or outlay ,
