FUNDRAISER LAUNCHED TO HELP LOCAL MAN WITH JUST 2 MONTHS TO LIVE

A fundraiser has been launched to support Island man Lester Donovan, who has been told he has just 2 months left to live. Back at the start of May, Lester was suddenly taken ill after suffering from a suspected stroke. Further tests carried out at hospital revealed that Lester had a brain tumour. Initially, it was hoped that the tumour could be removed surgically. However, just a week later, doctors discovered that Lester – who owns a floral tribute business in Wootton – had cancer in his pancreas, lungs, heart and bowels. There is no treatment available. As a result of their latest discovery, doctors have informed Lester and his family that he has only weeks left with us. Since the sad news, a fundraiser has been set up to help support the Donovans in these final months, and with his funeral. So far a total of £2,030 has been raised.
