Firefighters from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have dealt with a fuel spillage at a residential close in East Cowes tonight (Friday).
A single appliance from East Cowes’ retained fire station was mobilised to Haven Close on the Hawthorn Meadows estate shortly before 20:30.
It had been reported to fire control that petroleum was leaking within a garage.
Crews used an environmental spill kit to stop and absorb the leaking fuel.
Positive Pressure Ventilation was then used to rid fumes from the garage and neighbouring residential properties.
Firefighters have since stood down and returned to station having spent over an hour on scene.
