Visitors to St Mary’s Hospital will benefit from free parking while new ticket machines are installed across the site during the week commencing 28th April.
The temporary measure will apply to all patients and visitors as the Isle of Wight NHS Trust upgrades its parking systems to improve convenience and reliability.
The new parking machines will feature a simple, easy-to-use design with payment via coin, card and contactless.
Those who are perhaps more hard of sight will welcome large high-definition touchscreens with improved reliability using the latest technology.
An indoor payment terminal near the main reception will also be installed.
The Isle of Wight NHS Trust has confirmed that charges will be suspended while the upgrade work is carried out.
A spokesperson said the improvements are aimed at making parking “easier and more convenient for everyone”.
I expect that upgrade, when started, will be very quick.
Ah, more convenient for the customer…. that means more profit in hidden language,
Should be free always.
You should see how much some mainland
hospitals charge to park, some hospitals charge
£7.00 for 1-2 Hours
I AM NOT JOKING
Island residents have it good.
Stop moaning!
Parking at St Mary’s should always be free, patients and visitors have enough to worry about.
True, but they don’t care about that.
Fortunately the island charges less than half the
price to park than many of the mainland hospitals.
Bloody disgrace..should be free.
The money raised helps pay for the upkeep
ot the car park.
Tarmac and concrete costs money, plus
it costs money to pay engineering companies
to carry out repairs etc.
At least they don’t use Island Roads, hence
NO Potholes in the Hospital car park.
Lol
