In honour of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Isle of Wight ferry operator Red Funnel is offering past and present members of the UK Armed Forces free foot passenger travel on 5th and 6th June 2024. This special offer is available for travel on both Red Funnel’s High-Speed Red Jet service and vehicle ferry service and is valid in either direction between the Island and Southampton. Those qualified for this complimentary travel offer can claim their free ticket in person at any of Red Funnel’s ticket offices by presenting either a MOD Form 90 ID card, (including expired cards for veterans), or a UK Armed Forces Veteran ID Card. Acceptable forms of ID for veterans also include a Veterans Rail Card or a Defence Discount Card. Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, said:
“We are very grateful for the dedication and sacrifices made by our UK Armed Forces, and this is just one small way we’d like to show our appreciation. The bravery and enduring legacy of those who stormed the beaches of Normandy serve as a timeless reminder of the strength of the human spirit. May we continue to remember them on this very significant anniversary.”

Good but some veterans migh not be able to walk. We all owe them at least a free car return
what about people travelling for cancer and life saving treatments on the mainland. Vets are raking in the cash by ripping people off, have been for years. Sounds desperate to me, but as we all know Red Flannel are finished.

and a lot of those travelling for treatment are vets and i might add, if it wasn’t for the sacrifices made by the armed forces in the world wars, you would be speaking german and this country would have been ruled by germany for decades
