Police have established a crime scene and a forensics tent has been erected at a residential property in the middle of Ryde this morning (Friday).
Crime scene investigators from Hampshire Constabulary are currently on scene at Nelson Street in the town, where they are carrying out a detailed forensic examination of both inside and outside the property.
Island Echo understands that the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service was in attendance at the address in question earlier this morning.
Detectives from Newport CID are now in attendance and are working alongside the scientific services department to examine the scene and piece together what exactly has happened at Nelson Street.
Hampshire Constabulary has been approached for a statement.
UPDATE @ 17:24 – Mystery surrounds this morning’s incident as Police are yet to issue a statement.
Officers have now left the scene.
