A yellow weather warning for thick fog has been issued for the Isle of Wight, with the warning coming into force during the early hours of tomorrow morning (Friday).
Local forecasters IW Met Service say that mist and fog patches will develop overnight, becoming locally dense and fairly widespread by dawn giving some extremely poor visibility in places.
This is especially true for low lying rural parts away from the far south and east.
Motorists can expect hazardous driving conditions locally, especially when driving between hills and valleys due to sudden and unexpected reductions in visibility
Those crossing the Solent may face possible delays and cancellations.
The warning is in force from 01:00 until 11:00 on Friday 18th March 2022.
