IW Met Service has issued a yellow fog warning for the Isle of Wight tonight (Tuesday) and into tomorrow morning.
Areas of mist and fog will gradually develop as darkness falls and these will become rather widespread by dawn with some extremely poor visibility locally.
There is also the risk of some of the fog becoming freezing where temperatures drop to 0c or below.
Very poor visibility will lead to hazardous driving conditions, along with sudden and unexpected reductions in visibility over short distances.
There is also a risk of ice in low lying rural spots where foggy conditions combine with temperatures dropping below freezing.
Islanders should be aware of a general risk of travel and transport delays, including to cross-Solent travel and in particular Red Funnel.
The warning is in force from 21:00 tonight until 11:00 on Wednesday.
How many drivers will take any notice, slowing down seems alien to many, also putting lights on, they think if they can see a few meter’s that’s good enough.
I bet the red funnelgangwill be looking forward to a lay in .. if its not the fog it’ll probably be mechanical issues or staff shortages or leafs on the track anyway lol fingers crossed everyone
Now then, I wonder when the first small hatchback will end-up on it’s roof ?…answers on a post card please…
