The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in Cowes this afternoon (Friday) to assist local paramedics with a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Nodes Road, close to the junction with Uplands Road, at around 14:00.
Island Echo is told that a motorcyclist has been injured as a result of a collision with a car.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are on scene and have in the past few minutes been joined by the HEMS doctors and paramedics on board the air ambulance.
Police are on scene and are directing traffic in the area.
Earlier this afternoon 4 cars were involved in a crash on Horsebridge Hill between Newport and Cowes.
UPDATE @ 15:05 – The motorcyclist is thought to have sustained life-threatening injuries and is being flown to Southampton General Hospital.
