Motorists travelling between Cowes and Newport are facing disruption this lunchtime (Friday) as a result of a road traffic collision involving up to 4 vehicles.
The incident has occurred at the bottom of the hill by the speed cameras on the southbound carriageway.
Although the airbags in the vehicles have deployed, no one is thought to be seriously injured.
Traffic is backing up along the main road in both directions.
Southern Vectis say their Route 1 buses will be delayed as a result of the incident, compounded by the roadworks at Northwood.

That’s not what I saw! Helicopter landing, several ambulances and several.police cars it happened on the road bearing to the left at northwood garage, traffic was able to travel to cowes via the road to the right of northwood garage and we were turned back by the police on the road to newport well before the traffic lights at northwood.
That was a second accident on Nodes Road Sue, which happened around 2pm.
