IW Met Service has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and severe winds across the Isle of Wight for tomorrow afternoon (Thursday)
A band of heavy rain, accompanied by strong winds, is set to move across the Island on Thursday afternoon in the form of a squall line. This means that within the already-existing band of rain there are likely to be some very localised pockets of extremely heavy rainfall and extreme wind gusts.
Locally up to 25mm of rain could fall in a very short space of time leading to flash flooding in the usual prone locations. Accompanying these localised downpours will be some very strong gusts of wind of up to 70mph, or perhaps even 80mph in places.
However, outside of these downpours, there will still be some spells of rather heavy rain for a time but the wind will likely only reach up to around 50-55mph.
The warning is in force from 15:00 until 19:00 on Thursday 24th November.
