The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been called to reports of a fire at a property in Wootton tonight (Sunday) – the fifth time fire crews have been called to the address in recent weeks.
2 appliances from Newport, 1 appliance from Ryde and a special appliance from Newport have all rushed to St Edmunds Walk as a result of a 999 call at around 09:45.
However, it has yet again been quickly established that the incident is in fact a false alarm. It comes following 4 previous calls to the same address by the occupier. No fire has been located on any of the 5 call outs to date.
Resources are now standing down from the scene and are once again available to respond to a real emergency should the need arise.
Island Echo understands an elderly individual lives at the property. It was said on 21st March that the situation would be looked into by the appropriate agencies.

Sounds like another sad case of lovely dementia, I hope this poor person gets the help they desperately need.
Bit dark for 09.45!!
