
Firefighters assisted paramedics in moving a patient from a property in Freshwater this morning (Tuesday).
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to an address at Sunset Close following a medical episode, but soon found they needed the assistance of fire crews to move the poorly patient.
An appliance from nearby Freshwater Fire Station was mobilised at around 11:00, alongside the West Wight’s Co-Responder.
The fire crew worked to extricate the individual from the flat and onto a stretcher before they were conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport by ambulance.
