The Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue service have mobilised a number of resources to Jubilee Stores at Newport Harbour this afternoon .
2 appliances from Ryde, 1 from Newport, an Aerial Ladder Platform and the Incident Command Unit are all on scene after being alerted to a potential fire at the industrial premises at around 16:35
UPDATE @ 17:11 – The fire service have now stood down all assets as it has been deemed that the incident is nothing more than a false alarm.
It is understood external fumes caused the building’s fire alarm to be activated.
