FIRE CREWS CALLED TO STABILISE VEHICLE FOLLOWING PEDESTRIAN CRASH


Firefighters have been mobilised to reports of a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle in Colwell this evening (Wednesday). 

1 appliance from Freshwater has been sent to the scene, alongside ambulance crews.

UPDATE @ 18:00 – It has been confirmed that firefighters were mobilised to St Andrew’s Way at just before 17:30 after a vehicle left the road.

Paramedics requested the assistance of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service to stabilise the vehicle.

No other vehicles have been involved in the incident.

UPDATE @ 18:30 – 1 person – a pedestrian – has received minor injuries after being struck by the vehicle.

It’s understood the car’s handbrake failed.
