We recently held a non-statutory consultation to gather views on three potential CO2 pipeline corridors. We appreciate the time and effort the community has dedicated to this process and value your input.
However, we have decided not to progress with the associated CO2 storage in the English Channel, and therefore, the Solent CO2 pipeline project will not go ahead.
Despite our efforts over the past three years to secure the necessary government policies and market conditions to support the significant investment required for this project, we have concluded that these conditions are not in place at this time.
We continue to explore alternative technical solutions that could significantly reduce CO2 emissions, ensuring we can still meet society’s energy and chemical needs.

The island needs to become more green,
it is full of dirty diesel and petrol vehicles.
2030 is not far away, net zero is hardly likely
on the island unless the Council does more.
Hiding CO2 in a hole in the ground does absolutely nothing to reduce the amount of CO2 being produced. It’s just massaging the figures to try and get to this whimsical net zero situation.
Oh dear you been brainwashed by the netzero climate/crap drigade..you must of voted labour then..must love all the damage mental milliban is about to unleash on us all..
