Middle Road is due to open imminently.
With the speed that some cars go down Carisbrooke High Street, I can only guess the kind of speeds these people go along these out of town roads. People are driving too fast around bends and not anticipating what could be pulling out of a side road around that said bend. There simply isn’t any common sense with these drivers. They want to get from A to B as quickly as possible, and damn the consequences.
Motorists know the island is lawless, hence
them speeding.
IW Council are more concerned slapping
tickets on motorists who go a few minutes over
their time.
Why not employ persons to STOP people
Speeding, rather than employing Civil Enforcement Officers
to book motorists.
Speeding kills people, going a few minutes over their
parking time does not.
WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT!

Maybe the Island will get a Mayor like Khan running
the show, they will out a STOP to speeding on the
Island.
I’ve always thought a tiered police force similar to france would be good..some to deal with ”real” (for want of a better word) crime..theft, assault drugs etc. Another for road crime and inforcement. Dealing with traffic offences plus e scooter, unristricted e bikes etc and prangs. Seems expensive to have a officer simply stood directing traffic etc when a lesser qualifed unit could be used.
