Emergency service personnel are responding to the South Wight tonight (Tuesday) following reports of a road traffic collision.
It is currently unclear on the circumstances of the incident, although Police are said to be in attendance at the bottom of Cowleaze Hill – the main through road from Shanklin to Ventnor.
Motorists are advised to take care in the area.
UPDATE @ 21:30 – A white Citroen C3 has been imvolved in a single vehicle crash and is currently being recovered by Bartletts Service Station. It’s understood the vehicle rolled onto its side.
Although the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to the scene they are not thought to have conveyed any patients to hospital and paramedics have now stood down from the incident.
The road is currently blocked in both directions whilst recovery takes place.
