An elderly man who fell down an embankment near to the houseboats at Bembridge Harbour was rescued by coastguards and paramedics yesterday (Monday).
Coastguard Rescue Officers from Bembridge and Ventnor were mobilised to the scene on Embankment Road at 14:56 yesterday afternoon.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were also sent to the incident, halfway between St Helens and Bembridge.
It’s understood that the casualty was transferred into the awaiting ambulance for onward conveyance to St Mary’s Hospital, with emergency teams standing down soon after.
