Isle of Wight East MP Joe Robertson has launched a competition to design his 2024 Christmas card.
All primary school-aged children attending school in the Isle of Wight East constituency are invited to enter, plus those being home educated and living in the East Wight.
Joe launched his competition at Brading Primary School this week and said he wanted to see lots of colours and creativity. He said he would be sending hundreds of cards this Christmas, both locally and in Westminster, and he wanted to showcase local children’s artistic talent.
Joe told Year 6 pupils:
“This is the time to get creative and think about what you most enjoy about Christmas. Draw or paint whatever makes you feel Christmassy and you think people would like to get in the post!”
The MP shared a variety of cards he received last year to stimulate thoughts and conversation, and went on to say afterwards:
“I was impressed with some of the ideas that were discussed like Father Christmas landing on Big Ben! My office will judge and choose three winning designs from different age groups which will be turned into three different versions of my official MP Christmas cards for 2024.
Any medium can be used, like pencil, felt tip, crayon, or even collage – provided it can be scanned and turned into a landscape or portrait Christmas card.”
Designs should be completed on A5, A4 or A3 paper or card and sent to the MP’s constituency office with the child’s name, age, school year, and school name or home address, if home-educated.
For children attending school, Joe asks that schools collate the artwork and send them to the MP’s office: Office of Joe Robertson MP, Shanklin Conservative Club, 6 Palmerston Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight, PO37 6AU.
The closing date is 10th November.

Joe personally I would find it more beneficial if
you could keep fighting the cause for cheaper
Ferry fares, than worrying about Christmas Cards.
Also have you not witnessed the everyday speeding that
takes place on the island on a daily basis.
Are there no speeding rules on the island!!
I would like to see speed Camera’s installed islandwide.
I pay extortionate Council Tax fees each year and don’t expect
this to be allowed to happen.
Wales and London implemented 20mph, it is
much safer now since doing so.
Exactly. As an MP on a good salary you’d think he’d have better things to do with his time and tax payers money than this. It’s not like he can’t afford to buy cards and these kids are far too young to vote.
Superb. He has a great energy. If this was Bob he’d have been sharing his views on war in the Ukraine & whether Megan & Harry should be stripped of their titles lol
None of them are any good.
I want an MP who addresses extortionate ferry fares and
extortionate council tax charges.
