A Wroxall man who walked into a random house after consuming 6 pints and the drug ketamine, before assaulting the homeowner and causing criminal damage, has pleaded guilty to 2 offences at court.
Todd Eldridge, 25, of Mountfield Road in Wroxall, entered guilty pleas to assault by beating and criminal damage when he appeared before Magistrates on Tuesday.
Ann Smout, prosecuting, told the court that on 13th October, at around 23:30 in the evening, a man inside his home in the village of Wroxall heard some noises from downstairs whilst he was sleeping. Awoken by the noise, the man went to the top of his stairs to see Eldridge standing there. Eldridge was told to get out of the house before replying “no it’s my house”.
When restrained by the male, Eldridge scraped his skin. The pair headed outside the property continuing to argue and scuffle. The 25-year-old began kicking at the door and a shoe rack, before shouting “I want my shoes back”. The court heard that Eldridge wanted his footwear – a blue pair of crocs – and a pouch of tobacco back, that he believed was in the property.
After the incident, the owner of the house also noticed that a remote control was taken from the property.
The next day, Eldridge was arrested by Police but insisted that he hadn’t done anything. However, after the evidence was put to him – including the discovery of the remote control in his pocket – he admitted that he must’ve done it.
Eldridge has a previous conviction dating back to June 2022 when he was convicted of 2 drug driving offences.
Defending, Oscar Vincent said that Eldridge had drunk around 5-6 pints on the day and had taken some ketamine – meaning he turned up at the wrong door in his drunken state. He also added that Eldridge, who is a landscaper and ground worker, had a bad year losing his job after the aforementioned offences in June.
In a report read out by probation, it claimed that Eldridge was a regular drinker who consumes anywhere between 4-8 pints an evening. He was also a drug user and classed himself as a habitual user of cannabis and an occasional user of cocaine.
The 25-year-old was handed a 12-month community order with 60 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation days attached. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85, compensation of £25 and a victim surcharge fee of £114.

When are the courts goiing to put this scum away.
More importantly when are the police going to do something info is he still driving with no licence
Omg lol had to be from wroxall
You Still playing with ur toys cars
I’m a barbie girl in a barbie world
Looking back at the previous court appearance, this self confessed habitual drug taker told Mr Vincent prior to his hearing for drug driving, that he’d not taken any drugs for 4 days before crashing his car, whilst off his tits!!
This latest confession of up to 8 pints a night on top of all the drugs will be a huge concern next year, when he’s applying for his licence. Hope the judge is taking note!! From Shop lifting at Niton, drug driving to this. How the spoilt spoon fed fall. Should try standing on his own two feet & learn to pay his way in life. Maybe then he wouldn’t have such a disposable income to feed his selfish habits. Parents must be Sooo proud.
His parents are doing the best they can. He has amazing kind parents, he doesn’t come from an awful background, he just went through something that has made him this way. Everyone is trying to help him.
He needs professional therapy, I feel for his parents they are obviously very loving and kind but it doesn’t appear to be doing him any favours.
What a shame for this poor individual.
Let’s hope this young man gets the help and support he needs and can change his life around before it’s too late.
Wonder if he has sat down and figured out why he lost his job and then how to keep one. A 3 year old could tell him if his Counsellor Mr Vincent couldn’t. The sentence doesn’t fit the crime, nor does it help the perpetrator and victim. A life long addiction will not be solved in less than one month.
Mollycoddled beyond belief.
Bailed out left right & centre by his parents, whom he speaks to & treats like dirt. He’s been out of control for years. Was always a nuisance as a kid & with his motorbike. I have seen him just down the road from his home, screaming at his bike because the engine wouldn’t run smoothly ! Then started kicking a wall & a gate to vent his uncontrollable outburst of anger, before calling his mother all the names imaginable.
Crashed his car several times before being caught for drug driving. It’s just shear luck nobody has ever been injured by his selfish behaviour. Time to wake up & grow up. Mummy & Daddy won’t always be there to help.
Stop slagging off his mum and dad. It’s disgusting. He is troubled, it’s not an excuse but there’s no need to bring his mum and dad into it!!!
shut up chaz you’re the one that brought his parents into this, the boys scum and his parents should cut any contact with him
He’s not scum, he’s been through a lot. Pipe down.
Sure you’re kids are such angels too ! this lad needs , he’s not a Peado or prolific burglar or goes out looking for a good punch up, he’s got his punishment and will need to follow through and learn very quickly. Many people over their lives have got wasted and got into wrong car( as passenger) or gone into wrong home, some even wake up in others bed’s – but no intention to cause harm, maybe victim exaggerated a little for their own attention?.
What a joke the courts are with that punishment the animal should be locked up, that get him off the drink and drugs, anyone break into my place and they be needing a ambulance
But he’s the animal?
Animal? He needs help. Obviously you’ve not been a drunken idiot before.
Need to increase his benefits cut his council tax and get him loads of free counciling Wrap him up in cotton wool and get him back on track.
All these comments about the poor lad, he had an experience that made him like this, his parents are trying, he has a drink/drugs problem, he needs help/therapy, and on and on BUT… WHAT ABOUT THE VICTIM!!!! He woke up to a stranger in his home who assaulted him, screamed at him and kicked his property and the court says it’s only worth £25! Loads of money will be thrown at the lad to ‘help’ but the victim may possibly suffer for years! Take the lad out of society until he is ‘cured’ or mature enough to stop behaving like a 5 year old and pass some sympathy to the poor guy who endured this.
