A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a collision in Ryde overnight.
Police were called to Nelson Street in the town at 02:40 this morning (Christmas Eve) to a report of a vehicle having collided with a wall.
Officers attended and a 24-year-old man from Ryde was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
He remains in custody at Newport Police Station at this time.
The crash has caused damage to a pillar and wall at the bottom of the road, near the junction with Castle Street.
