Wightlink have been forced to cancel their 09:30 sailing from Fishbourne this morning (Tuesday) due to a technical issue with the ferry St Cecilia.
The news comes after the announcement that the operator’s Yarmouth to Lymington service will be suspended today due to high winds. New operating restrictions mean that the ferries won’t sail out of the West Wight if the wind speed hits 25 knots.
According to Island Echo readers, the 07:30 sailing from Fishbourne was also cancelled this morning without reason or notice.
It is unclear at this stage how this technical issue will affected sailings throughout the rest of the day.
Meanwhile, Hovertravel have suspended their Ryde to Southsea passenger service due to the adverse conditions. Red Funnel are currently operating to timetable.
