Wightlink have suspended their Yarmouth-Lymington service this morning (Tuesday) due to high winds on the Solent, winds which exceed the new operating restrictions.
As reported by Island Echo yesterday, it has been announced that the West Wight route will fail to operate if wind speeds reach 20 knots constant or gust at 25 knots.
With a yellow weather warning in place for heavy rain and an advisory for strong winds it is no surprise that the service has been suspended.
Wightlink say that the suspension is for ‘today’, indicating that it is unlikely any ferries will depart from Yarmouth at all today.
The operator apologises for any changes to your travel plans.
