DENSE FOG LIKELY TO CAUSE TRAVEL DISRUPTION WARN FORECASTERS


A yellow weather warning for fog has been issued by Isle of Wight weather forecasters IW Met Service.

Patchy fog is expected to develop throughout this evening before gradually becoming more widespread and locally very dense, especially near river valleys and other low lying locations.

It is expected that very dense fog will feature in some locations across the Island first thing tomorrow (Wednesday). That said, in more central parts of the Island the fog is likely to burn away but the risk continues on and off around the coast, which includes the Solent.

Travel disruption is possible with delays likely on cross-Solent travel.

Tomorrow evening the fog is likely to return in many places once again with further travel disruptions likely.

The local weather warning is in force from 23:00 tonight (Tuesday) until 04:00 on Thursday morning,
