A mother and son who are both profoundly Deaf will take on a 12-mile fundraising walk from Sandown to Ryde tomorrow, (Saturday), to raise money for residents at Easthill Home for Deaf People.
The pair, including son Ben, are undertaking the challenge to help provide more activities for residents at the home, supporting them to continue living happy and fulfilled lives.
The walk holds particular significance for the mother and son, who both understand the barriers that Deaf people face in everyday life.
Money raised through the challenge will go towards creating more opportunities for residents to enjoy activities and experiences.
