Motorists face possible delays or diversion as a result of a 2-car collision on The Downs this morning (Friday).
The incident has occurred between Lime Kiln Shute and Duxmore Farm on the main Downs road between Ryde and Newport.
No emergency services are in attendance just yet, but are expected to arrive on scene shortly.
The road is currently open in both directions with delays building.
UPDATE @ 10:49 – Police are now on scene and are directing traffic in both directions. The road remains open but with delays.
No serious injuries have been sustained and the damaged vehicles are expected to be recovered shortly.
driver retest needed
A very unpleasant corner/kink by the Lime Kiln Junction, not one to be taken lightly. Narrows quite quickly and woe betide if you’re going too quickly as a larger vehicle is approaching in the other direction
Not if one knows how to drive. All roads are safe, if one pays attention…
That road is NOT a problem, it’s the idiot drivers that are the cause!!
Just bad drivers.. yes retest anyone that causes a collision.. should also make driving test harder, too many idiots on the road. Should also make it renewable every ten years, so everyone say from now on has to take a retest every ten years after getting full licence…. just might prevent a few deaths each year..
Happy to take another test. Perhaps one of the perfect people on here could stand on the side of the road and throw builders buckets into the road whilst I take the test just to get a real life reconstruction!
