Wightlink’s Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service is delayed this morning (Wednesday) due to a problem with the linkspan at Fishbourne.
Island Echo understands the 10:40 from Fishbourne is yet to sail as the linkspan to the top deck is stuck in the down position.
The cross-Solent operator is advising of 45-minute delays on the route.
Victoria of Wight is currently holding off in the Solent on its approach to the Isle of Wight.
UPDATE @ 11:55 – St Clare is yet to depart from Fishbourne, 1 hour 15 minutes after the due departure.
Victoria of Wight remains in the Solent awaiting a berth.
UPDATE – The service is now back up and running, but with delays of around 45 minutes.

Unknown why they do not have another berth, for when these problems arise.
Just a standard berth like they had before all this automatic stuff… same on mainland..
